Background: As the youngest of three boys, Virnin had little reason to stay and help his father mind their store - which survived the Curse which gave his family a better start after the Awakening than most. Virnin was sixteen when he was Searched through the Refugee Program created by King Turold and Weyrleader J'ren to give relief to the city in a great time of need. Virnin has managed to miss nearly every Hatching since through one miss-fortune or another until now. While he has spent most of his time at the Hold in foster-care to a good family, he has also managed to spend enough time at a Weyr to know how things work.
